The Asus UL laptop series would have to be one of my favorites for 2009/2010. The combination of good design, great specs and an attractive has proven to be irresistible for me (from the looks of sales figures, many others too). There are many different models in the UL series. The UL30Vt-X1, UL80AG-A1, UL30A-X5 and the UL30A-A2 are some of the more popular models. There are 13.3-inch - 14-inch laptop models with very similar designs and some variation in specs and features.
Many of the laptops in the UL series have a 1.3Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4GB of RAM (DDR3) and a 500GB hard drive. Some of the other models have DDR2 RAM and a smaller 320GB hard drive. What they do have in common is a gorgeous design. They are very stylish and slim (measuring around 0.97 - 1.1 inches in thickness). There is even a metal-brushed finish on its external casing that gives it a luxurious look.
Another highly of this series would be their long battery life. Many of these models have 12-hour battery life spans, which is extremely impressive by any standards. These laptops are designed to be very versatile entertainment/work laptops. All of them come with HD resolution screens and some even have great graphic cards.
In the UL30Vt-X1 13.3-inch model, you can have the choice to switch between two graphics card to either conserve battery power or get great graphic performance. All in all, if are looking for a very portable, stylish, practical yet affordable laptop model, the UL laptop series in the way to go. Among the four models mentioned above, the prices start from about $677 each.
